My father has been living at Viewbank house for nearly three years this is his home after having to be separated from my mother (living with her for 62 years) he became extremely depressed and mentally unstable.  The staff at Viewbank house have made him feel loved and made to feel like family to them. My dad has finally turned the corner and is happy and now calls Viewbank house his home and on Sunday 19th February his world was torn apart as the elderly frail residents were told the place they call home was closing down and they have till the 25th March 2017 to find another place.  Which means moving all their personal belongings eg: bed, couches etc and finding somewhere that is suitable for each residents individual needs.  I would like to ask for some compassion and duty of care to give these frail elderly residents more time to adjust to this change as some of them have dementia and don't know what is going on.

It is not as easy to find somewhere for these people as i have just found out with my mother some of these homes ask for a bond of up to $700,000 which most people don't have.

This will impact on these residents and families mentally, physically and emotionally.

Please have some thoughts for these poor innocent elderly citizens and give them more time.  :(
