Support Ecole Gron Morgan's Application for Walk or Wheel Grant!

Ecole Gron Morgan School Community! Please sign this petition to demonstrate your support of the school's application for a Walk or Wheel Active School Transportation Grant. The grant would mean $15,000 of in-kind support for active transportation initiatives. It could fund, for example:

- Changes to the school grounds to make it safer and easier for kids to arrive on foot, bike or scooter - things like new bike and scooter racks, new sidewalks, changes to the park and ride, and a walk-a-block spot where kids who live farther from the school can be dropped off and walk the rest of the way;

- Initiatives to encourage walking or wheeling to school all year round, like walking school bus and buddy programs, route maps, winter clothing swaps, and fun events; and

- School-based programs to teach kids about bike safety, pedestrian safety, and how to make it work when it's cold and snowy.

If you think it's a good idea to make it easier and safer for kids and staff to walk or wheel to Gron Morgan, please sign the petition.  And if you have time, please tell us why you think our school has potential to improve active transportation, what difference you think it would make to your family, and what you think the school needs to make it work.

The grant application is due on Friday, May 25, so we hope to hear from you before then.  The application is being organized by a group of Parent Council members, with support from the Gron Morgan's administration.
