Carleton Athlete's Legacy Fund

The goal of the legacy fund is to raise money annually at the varsity Banquet to create improvements towards an underfunded entity within Carleton Athletics, used universally by all varsity athletes. In previous banquets, the money from alcohol sales went to the banquet hall. This year, since Varsity Council has changed the location and the catering company, we have the now provided an opportunity to make a profit. The money for the legacy fund would be raised annually at the banquet through the profit of alcohol sales. We have proposed the creation of the Legacy fund to the athletics department and it was denied. The response we received was that “areas within athletics get more help than we think.” We believe that this is an unfortunate decision, and we need you help.
With the creation of this fund, we, the student athletes will be able to create a direct positive impact for every student athlete by giving back to the sectors within athletics who support us unconditionally. (Think: Athletic therapy, and the High performance center).
We are requesting that the athletic administration trust that us, the athletes, will represent Ravens athletics responsibly at this event. We request the administration allow us to purchase/provide alcohol responsibly during our event at our discretion in order to help us achieve our goals of creating our Legacy Fund. We also request that the administration reconsider our original proposal regarding the purchase/selling of alcohol during our event.
This legacy Fund is our opportunity to come together as Ravens athletes and grow our culture through giving back to our athletics that is helping us reach our full potential as Ravens.
Sign this legacy Fund petition. Let’s help the people who help us the most.
