A letter dated 1/22/2022 was sent to Jeffery Zients, CoVid 19 Response Team, The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, NW, Washington, DC 20500, and signed by Peter Welch, and H. Morgan Griffith, as well as 194 other signatories.

It spelled out LIES, MISREPRESENTATIONS, and CONFABULATIONS as to why Nursing Salaries were in need of BEING CAPPED, RESTRICTED, AND GOVERNED!

This letter, here allows the Nursing Community, numbering over 6,000,000 Licensed & Retired strong, the ability to respond TRUTHFULLY to their letter, as well as informing the President, Vice President, and Speaker of the House about this travesty of an attempt to try and keep Nurses as a whole from rising out of the trash heaps these people would place them!

This is a Nursing Reply to the letter of January 24, 2022 written by Peter Welch, and H. Morgan Griffin, and 195 other signatories.

 


Yes, the CoVid cases are a tax upon the System!

But the many signatories to that letter wish to BLAME THE LACK OF NURSES FOR THAT PROBLEM!

That is totally false and unwarranted!

No State is allowing EMERGENCY RELICENSING OF EXPIRED OR LAPSED LICENSES, though most ALL states had a provision for that WHEN THE PANDEMIC WAS NOT NEARLY AS BAD! Please see the summary at https://www.ncsbn.org/State_COVID-19_Response.pdf

Suggestions were sent to Gov DeSantis, Pres Trump (at the time), Sen Scott, and Sen Rubio in February of 2020 that were essentially a list of Emergency measures that would have alleviated the lack of personnel by encouraging lapsed retired HCW’s to rejoin the forces, procure PPE, establish Overflow Units outside of any in Hospitals to handle surges, as well as testing and vaccination work, along with several other easy ideas to alleviate this Pandemic from a Healthcare Standpoint. No reply was ever made, so they all must not have seen a need to even think about addressing these needs!

These Signatories also DO NOT ADDRESS THE FACT that 99.5% of ALL CURRENT CoVid HOSPITALIZATIONS COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED BY VACCINES, AND VACCINATION MANDATES!

If these people are going to be LED BY POLITICIANS LIKE ALL THE SIGNATORIES TO THIS, TO BELIEVE THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO REFUSE PROPER PREVENTIVE MEDICAL TREATMENT, AND INSTEAD FLOOD THE SYSTEM WITH THEIR RETICENT DYING CORPSES, THEN THEY ARE REAPING THE FRUITS OF THEIR EFFORTS, HAVING DUG PATIENT GRAVES, AND THEIRS, AND IT IS TIME TO OCCUPY THEM!

The lack of Nurses has been generated by INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIORS, POOR PLANNING, PRIOR PROBLEMS BEING EXACERBATED, AND POOR WORKING CONDITIONS, all in sight and seeming approval of overpaid CEO’s!

 


Nurse Staffing Agencies taking advantage of this Pandemic? Let’s talk about the 10 wealthiest US citizens having more than DOUBLED their worth JUST LAST YEAR! Should we see how all of the Signatories to this have done, in the last two years? I’d ask for a Congressional Investigation, but it would never pass a vote to happen, because of THE MASSIVE CONFLICTS OF INTERESTS WITHIN THE CORRUPT HALLS!

Governor DeSantis alone is so guilty! Denying the validity of Vaccines, yet promoting Monoclonal Antibodies from a company that was making HUGE DONATIONS TO HIM BECAUSE OF THAT ACTION!

Funny, that the signatories don’t cite anyone making these complaints that are addressed in their letter!

Why? Because they are the overpaid CEO’s raking in Multi-Million Dollar Salaries, who are also donors to all of their Political Campaigns! That would come out in an investigation too, but their influence will prevent that, as well!

Nurses could have been treated better PRIOR TO THIS PANDEMIC, but weren’t!

In over 40 years of Nursing just for the originator of this letter, as well as several years of EMT/Paramedic/Firefighting before that, neither he, nor anyone has heard of a VIABLE NURSE RETENTION PROGRAM beyond a stale pizza on occasion! Sure, let’s recruit new meat for the grinder, with big bonuses, moving and rent allowances, etc, but NOTHING TO APPEASE EXISTING STAFF HAS EVER BEEN SEEN!

 


You want to know why Agencies are appealing? Any Travel Nurse figures that if they land in a ‘HELL’ assignment, they know it’s only 8-13 weeks before they are done with that assignment, never to return, and spreading the word online to others NEVER to cross that institution’s threshold! They sacrifice a real home for what can be crammed into their vehicle, and taken from agency apartment to the next, sometimes even housed in a motel room, counting down the time to try another assignment!

It isn’t the pay! The pay is a bonus right now, and SHOULD NOT BE LIMITED, LEST YOU ALL BE ACCUSED OF RESTRICTING FREE MARKET TRADE, SOMETHING THIS NATION WAS FOUNDED UPON! Travel Agencies existed DECADES before this Pandemic, because of the basic fact that HOSPITALS HAVE POLITICS WITHIN THEM THAT INTERFERE WITH PATIENT CARE! Nurses leave these toxic environments seeking a refreshing chance of employment elsewhere.

 


Nurses are already starting to plan, and to implement if needed, a 24 hour Nationwide Strike, should this even come close to being voted upon!

This isn’t a threat. It is a REMINDER that while Hospitals are named after Physicians, they DO NOT RUN WITHOUT THE REAL WORKHORSES OF THE SYSTEM, BEING NURSES!

If the Multiple Millions of Dollars exist to pay Hospital Administration personnel, and overpay even Nursing Administration Personnel that do not contribute to bedside care, then it is apparent that priorities are misplaced for whom pay needs to be handed out to, and that this model needs to be shaken up, if not torn asunder!

The backbone is very important for a functioning individual, and Nurses are what is essential for Hospital Operations!

A ‘BIG BLOATED HEAVY HEAD’ of Overpaid CEO’s and Administrative types weighs heavy on a weak spine, but a Normal Sized Head of pared down Administration operates very well on a strong spine.

 


IF IN FACT COSTS ARE THE PROBLEM, prune from the top, not the roots or the trunk!

Also, be aware that a Million is only 20% of the ACTIVELY LICENSED Nurses in the lower 48, which doesn’t include retirees that have allowed licenses to lapse due to excessive costs, who number over 1.5 Million on their own!
