Starting a conversation between the McFarland student body and the McFarland School Administration is just the first step to preventing more tragedies from taking place in our community. Per the CDC, suicide is the second-leading cause of death in adolescents, and our school district has the power to help each and every student enrolled. This tragedy is something that we, the students of McFarland High School, have lost our fellow Spartans to in the previous years. By signing this petition, you state that you have attended, are currently attending, or are a community member with active interest in the McFarland School District, and you support opening a dialogue between the student body and district to further review policies regarding mental health and suicide prevention.
