Send Green High School and Middle School Students Back To School

Send Green High School and Middle School Students Back To School
Why this petition matters

The superintendent of Green Local Schools and the school board made the decision that all students in grades 6-12 would learn virtually the first nine weeks of school.
Originally, parents and students were given the choice of 5 days of in person learning K-12 or 5 days of virtual learning. 75 percent of families chose 5 days of in person learning. 75 percent!!! Without taking parents or students wishes into consideration, they changed to giving us in grades 6-12 no choice but virtual learning. They did not even give the choice of a blended learning model where we could go to school two or three days a week.
When parents and community members went to the board meeting to express their concerns about the decision, the board of education did not take their wishes for their children into consideration.
It is important for our age group to be in school with our peers. It is important for us to socialize with others face to face. It is important for us to be able to interact with our teachers in person. The school has only thought of our physical health and are not really taking into consideration our mental health. On top of being isolated from our peers and teachers, virtual learning causes frustration and is not setting us up for success.
Let Mr. Miller and the school board know how important it is for us to be in school, even if it is through a blended learning model. Sign this petition and comment to let them know how five days of virtual learning is affecting you, or if you are a parent, how it is affecting your child.
