Why this petition matters

Started by Amber Rose

Amazon.com needs to stop withholding funds indefinitely for sellers! This is abuse of their system, as most companies return the funds after a year. Amazon currently holds indefinitely a seller’s funds, and sometimes it is not for the right or honest reasons. Not all sellers can afford legal representation to fight back for their funds. It gives Amazon power to misjudge a seller’s action and condemn them indefinitely for it. Amazon should hold funds no more than one year after account suspension and release it to the seller. If Amazon is worried about legal issues that can happen in the future, Amazon can withhold all necessary information (Social security, Driver’s License, Home address etc.) from the seller for later funds retrieval. Amazon.com is the only Online Marketplace that holds funds indefinitely for sellers. We do not know what they really do with our funds and all funds should be returned to their rights owner after a year of withhold.

Please join my petition, into letting Congress review this petition including all USA sellers cases that Amazon.com have withhold payment, as well as evidence what have been done with those funds. Thousands of sellers get their funds withhold indefinitely without an opportunity to fight back unless they can afford legal representation. Amazon.com is not right in 100% of seller suspensions and this can be seen with millions of stories across the world. Some sellers have committed suicide and have gone homeless, after Amazon wrongfully withhold all their funds. U.K took action against Amazon.com, U.S.A should too. There is a State Law that clearly mentions “Withholding Pay as Punishment. An employer cannot withhold pay as punishment; if an employee violates company policy and leaves on bad terms, they are still owed their full paycheck.” Therefore, Amazon making their own Terms & Conditions to withhold payments, they are literally breaking the Law.
