Build the Wall for All

This petition had 111 supporters

The purpose of this petition is to ask our local government to reconsider the current plan of building the flood wall along the East bank of the canal along Westfield Blvd. This current plan would endanger 320 homes in the neighborhood of Rocky Ripple, destroy the aesthetics of the historic White River Canal and Holcomb Gardens, and leave part of Butler University, an institution that brings pride to our state, unprotected.

This petition is requesting that our local government look at the whole picture and chooses a more dynamic solution that can include and provide flood protection to all of the residents, businesses, and schools that are effected by this decision.

This petition is requesting that our local government and decision makers adopt the perspective and plan being presented by the Build the Wall for All campaign.

We believe it is the responsibility for our leaders to protect their citizens.  And we know that in this situation, it is possible. Building the wall around the neighborhood of Rocky Ripple will ensure protection for ALL. It's that simple!

We challenge our local government and decision makers to make this choice, which is the best and most supportive for all concerned, even if it isn't the cheapest or easiest solution.

We know it is physically possible to protect everyone with a properly placed flood wall and we challenge our leaders to make that happen!!
