New rank list issues

Following the news, we are all aware of the fact that a plea has been raised by a student of Chennai in the Hon'ble High Court of Madras to give preference to only those candidates who have adhered to the exact correct instructions before the exam and hence redo the rank list completely for JEE Advanced 2018.

However, the JEE advanced committee at IIT Kanpur had released a statement that a certain other students will also be awarded marks whose answers were practically correct and released the marks and ranks according to this system.

Once the rank list is released, I think the committee and every governing official must understand the fact that students are also looking for admissions to several other engineering institutions other than IIT, NIT, IIIT and GFTI's and also that the application and fee payment procedures to these institutions have a deadline. Understandably, the decisions, academic sessions and future of the students hangs in the balance.

These students including myself have turned down several other engineering institutions after the rank list for JoSAA had been released and also after several rounds of seat allotment.

If a decision is taken to adhere to the orders passed by the Hon'ble High Court of Madras, I plead that a nationwide change or relaxation in the admission process of all engineering institutions is ensured.
