Why this petition matters

In October 2018, at the Reading Full Council Meeting, the Conservative Councillors voted against a motion to urge the Education Secretary to bring an end to school cuts.

We do not think this is something Reading residents would have expected from its councillors and we are asking the Conservative Councillors to reconsider their position on this issue.

Our schools are on their knees with rises in mental health issues in both staff and pupils. There is also an increase in school class sizes.

Enough is enough.

We must invest in our young people and the next generation and want our voices on this issue to be heard and represented.
