Many of us as student athletes come to school, practices, and games and work hard everyday to represent ourselves, our school, and our town the best we can.  We believe in racial equality and a unified community that respects all its members.  We are Melrose and we are students and we are athletes.  We do not support a unilateral change to our mascot  and its history.  We demand our voices be heard and considered on this matter and request a public forum to discuss.
