I cannot believe a government department can be so heartless & stupid. This is not a third world country!!! Grant Joshua's family access to the travel scheme immediately.

This shouldn't be even an issue, not in our country

Amputation is meant to be a LAST RESORT - not a cost cutting/saving measure. Mr. Weatherill needs to put himself in the Turner's position for a minute.

I have a son with disabilities and I would like to think that if treatment was available interstate we would have access to it

As a mother, a happy, healthy child is the most important thing in your life. Children are our future. Kate has just come through breast cancer and to have to worry about something like this can't be good for her health. Regards, Jackie.

When help is available in another Australian State, we should not think about "borders". We after all one country. Why replicate services in each state when this highly specialised treatment is available one hours flight away. Please support this young person's right to treatment that is affordable, Kaisu

No Australian child should be denied treatment, which in this casae is readily available, with only transport costs creating ba barrier. The SA govt should be ashamed as I have no doubt that if it was a pollie wanting travel expenses at various times there would be no problem for him/her. This child has greater needs than any politician. Shame, shame, shame to the SA government. Also, though I know ordinary citizens would without doubt raise funds for him, it is unnecessary as taxpayers money should be footing the bill anyway. Ian Wetherill, hang your head and put this child ahead of your personal agenda!!
