Suicide is the 8th most likely death in Washington state,10% higher than most states. As an individual who has been through the mental health system. it has many flaws and wrong. There is not enough outreach and affordable treatment options. Insurance doesn't cover it all, and if it does, it's only for a small amount of time. Many people in this state cannot afford to pay for treatment and can't afford to take time off work. Therapy and mental help payment is not something you should have to worry about. I am asking you to support my petition to the city asking for more funding for the city's mental health crisis. This is a significant step, but a small step is advocating for those who need it. If you can help break the stigma around therapy, it is a huge help too.
