Save The Playtown

Oak Harbor Playtown was created as a safe place for not only children, but the parents and caregivers of Oak Harbor Washington. We opened our doors on January 4th, 2020 with overwhelming support and love from the our small island community.
On March 16th Governor Inslee closed all non-essential businesses with the hope we would be reopened in Phase 3. Island County achieved Phase 3 on June 18th with no new cases. Oak Harbor Playtown reopened on June 22nd following all safety protocols and the outpour of community support and appreciation was overwhelming!
To date, over 1,700 community members and their children have visited resulting in over 4,000 visits enjoying snacks, developmentally appropriate physical and mental activity, community socialization, and coffee for the exhausted adults.
Oak Harbor Playtown is the only location that offers safe, interactive play for children 0-10 years of age, year around, including birthday parties, play groups, and simply connecting parents with each other. We need your help to stay open through this crisis and since July 30th, we have been forced stay closed despite multiple attempts to reach out to the Governor's office.
Mental health is important and parental stress as well as post-partum depression, anxiety, isolation, and loneliness are truly impacting our community.
Please share with everyone to let Oak Harbor Playtown reopen and safely provide this desperately needed service to our families!
