This petition is intended to lower the unplanned pregnancies in our state and allow the costs associated with those pregnancies to be allocated to social programs to improve mental health and education in the surrounding communities. 

I propose that at the age of puberty, all males will undergo a mandatory medically reversible vasectomy. Funding for this procedure can be sourced from state funds previously allocated from the public health programs already available. It has been medically proven that vasectomies can successfully be reversed without lowering the chance for a successful pregnancy. When the male has then come to an age where he wants to start planning for a family he will be required to attend family and child care classes and upon completion and presentation of the certificate he will be able to have the vasectomy reversed with the approval of the mother to be. 

Vasectomies have been proven to be over 99.99% effective in preventing pregnancies. Vasectomies pose no long term health risks. Men who have had a vasectomy are no more likely to develop cancer, heart disease or other health problems. Vasectomies reversal is an easy procedure and pregnancy is successful over 90% of the time.
