As a resident and small business owner in Washington State, and as a Citizen of The United States of America, I am asking other Washingtonians to sign this petition imploring our Governor, Jay Inslee, to lift the current “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order in light of a recent publication written in The New England Journal of Medicine on March 26th, 2020 by Dr. Anthony S. Fauci himself stating that “the overall clinical consequences of Covid-19 may ultimately be more akin to those of a severe seasonal influenza (which has a case fatality rate of approximately 0.1%) or a pandemic influenza (similar to those in 1957 and 1968) rather than a disease similar to SARS or MERS, which have had case fatality rates of 9 to 10% and 36%, respectively.”

I urge co-signers of this petition to read the full write up from Dr. Fauci and also take note that the original Virology model used to initiate government policy in this country and others around the world, The Imperial College model, has changed significantly since its first results. It’s author, Neil Ferguson, has shifted his projections for deaths downward echoing what Dr. Fauci states above. That the Covid-19 death rate will be much lower than originally thought. So much so that the CDC has stated “most of the U.S. population will be exposed to” it and that “Most people (will) have (a) mild illness and are able to recover at home.”

It’s time now as a State to once again lead the charge. We were the first to be hit with the virus and take action now we must be the first to get back to work. To open up our shops, businesses, schools, and parks. If the Nation isn’t ready, then we must show them WE are and that now is the time to bring back our livelihoods, our normalcy.  We must show through our signatures on this petition and its request to go back to work that, yes, we can prevail and survive over this virus with good hygiene and time. However, should we continue this Stay At Home course for much longer our businesses and jobs most surely will not.

By signing this petition you’re telling Governor Inslee you want him to do what’s right and demand that he lift the “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order by April 12th, 2020 because your families and livelihood depend on it.
