Multiple Entrances for ATA Students

Hello, my name is Megan and I am a senior at the ATA for the 2017-2018 school year. Last year, no matter what time you arrived at school, it took ten minutes to go through the metal detectors. We had two fully functioning lines: one for students with book bags, and one for students without book bags. Sometime last year, the metal detector for the line with no book bags broke, and nobody has done anything in an effort to get that line back open. This year, not only is our tardy-time five minutes earlier than it was last year, we also have every single bus rider and driver trying to enter through one entrance. Today, 9/21/2017, I arrived at school at 7:52 and I was in the line by 7:56. I then spent 23 minutes in the line with at least 40 other students. I take my education seriously and I think it is absolutely ridiculous that I can arrive at school early and still be late to class. I know that many others agree with me on this, and that is why I'm making this petition. Nobody should have to be late to class just because the school decided to take in an extra ~20% students with no plan for how they would actually get into school in the morning. Mr. Powers, we need to open up a second line. Whether you separate them by transportation, grade, or amount of stuff does not matter. All that matters is that we get a second line so that everybody can be on time.
