During the crazy times we live in, so many people have turned to golf. Golf is a sport in which all people of any age can participate. In the recent address to the Albertan people, golf courses have been limited to every tee time only being shared my people in the same household, or golfing as a single.

Golf is a sport played outside, in a huge area. On one of the smallest holes you will ever have on a golf course, being 100 yards long and 20 yards wide, there is still up to 1500 feet for each person in a foursome.

Golf course restrictions are not helping society defeat Covid-19, but they are actually much more harmful. With mass restrictions, golf is one of the last things available for people to do. Making it harder to golf will just lock more people in their homes, making their immune systems weaker.

What should happen:

-Golf courses should be able to operate with little restrictions. Only sanitation and Social distancing being enforced, which courses are already doing

-One on One, as well as group and junior lessons should be permitted. With the near 0 transmission rate, there is no need to punish the golf industry.

-Tournaments should be able to operate. Even with a full field, social distanced registration is easily accomplished!

In conclusion, golf courses are one of the safest places you can be right now. Let's allow people to get some fresh air while exercising in a safe, social distanced matter!
