The confederate flag is a blatant symbol of racism and hate much to the likes of the Nazi flag, and should be lawfully considered as such. Many believe that it is a symbol of heritage, when in actuality it is a symbol of racist violence, hate, and slavery. In the 1950’s and the 1960’s the flag became widely used as a pro-segregation symbol during the civil rights movement. The white supremacist KKK hate organization (which was formed by confederate soldiers in 1860) began to use the confederate flag as their emblem. With this association, and the association to the Confederate ideals, this flag clearly represents slavery, racism, and white supremacy. It is for these reasons that it should no longer be publicly flown or signified anywhere and should be viewed the same as white-aryan/nazi propaganda.
