Change City of Yuma's Zoning Laws to ALLOW Mini Pigs and keep our family together

Per City of Yuma ordinance 6.04.300 section 35-41.5-102(1). All "Swine" are LIVESTOCK and are NOT PERMITTED to graze or be confined on any property located in the city of Yuma.
Miniature pigs have long proven their capacity to perform well as pets and in many cities across the country they are being welcomed by families as pets and family members. Miniature pigs are recognized and registered by the American Mini Pig Association and are usually a mixture of several small breeds.
Many city ordinances across the nation were written prior to the introduction of the miniature pig breeds and have become outdated.
We urge the city council to recognize and change the current municipal code to recognize the difference between farm hogs and breeds classified miniature. To create a code that allows miniature pigs as pets within the city limits of Yuma and to encourage responsible pet ownership.
And allow our family to stay together!
