Lissy Gulick started this petition to National Commission on Presidential Debates Janet H. Brown, Exec. Dir.,

No American, least of all the National Commission on Presidential Debates, should be proud of how the first "debate" went on September 29. The Commission MUST format the next debate so that it functions as a real debate, or not hold it at all. If Trump cannot be prevented from interrupting and acting like a playground bully when it is not his turn to speak, the Commission should hold the debate either via Zoom, or with each candidate in his own "isolation booth," with the camera and mic turned on him ONLY when it is his turn to speak. The non-speaking candidate would be able to hear what is being said, and could use that time to make notes-- remember note-taking? -- so he can respond intelligently and with the goal of informing the American People! We're not asking for anything more complicated than what we learned in high-shool debating class-- but another episode like what we saw last night is simply not acceptable!
