We want to give our full support in regards to the opening of the new recycling center at this very convenient close-to-downtown location. As we all know there are very few recycling centers left in the San Francisco area, an area that is supposed to be a leader in setting an example for the rest of the US in environmental issues. In the current economy we should all be exhilarated and welcoming to opening of new businesses, providing new jobs, causing an influx of income, especially if this helps the environmental goals of the city in the process. We have to look at the bigger picture. California's 2020 zero waste goals can and will only be reached if we set up the infrastructure for it by enabling new businesses to spring up and take part in the recycling industry. In the present situation, commuting long distances to centers causes people to loose time and money by sitting in congested traffic and spending money on gas (causing even more pollution), thus making it impractical and unfeasible for them to do the due diligence and recycle. Not having a close and convenient location to residential areas takes out the incentive for people to do what's right. Please help San Francisco to achieve a cleaner and more environmentally friendly city!
