Help Us Make Guilford the First All-Green College in the South

We, students of Guilford College, care about the economic and ecological future of our school. Our objective is to create a completely green and self-sustaining campus.
What does that mean? A self sustaining, or green, campus means that we would be creating a community where we, as a college, would be giving the resources that we use back into the environment.
As a school founded on Quaker values; such as stewardship, community, justice, equality, diversity, integrity, and excellence, we feel this project embodies the best that Guilford has to offer.
Many of us are drawn to Guilford because of the self-sustaining attributes; such as solar water heating, composting for the Guilford Farm, and water saving toilets. This project proposes taking these initiatives further, thereby making us a unique and one-of-a-kind college. Prospective students would be drawn to Guilford by this project, and current students can help lay the foundation for its success.
We propose enacting this vision one building at a time. We ask for 2 years to make one building green and plan to finish this project by 2030.
Friends, we ask you to join hands with us and help make Guilford green.
