Give Ammanford Miners' Theatre back to the local community!

Ammanford Miners' Theatre was built and paid for by the miners for the people of Ammanford. Carmarthenshire County Council run the venue and community groups and residents cannot gain access to it. The building is always locked and staff are brought in from Carmarthenshire Theatres, which is situated in Llanelli. There are no job or volunteering opportunities for local people. Community groups that hire the theatre are treated as a nuisance. Hire charges are extortionate and it costs £25 an hour for a minimum of 3 hours hire for a simple workshop. Ammanford is a small town, and many residents moan that there is nothing going on for local residents. Carmarthenshire Theatres do not connect with the local population and do not encourage community engagement. Staff are rude with a 'couldn't care less' attitude. This petition is to help bring Ammanford Miners' Theatre back to the people who's parents and grandparents paid for it all those years ago!
