My 21 yrs old nephew could have survived if timely medical help could have been availed to him.He lost precious 8 hours before he could be admitted to Leh Government Hospital.Ojas Apte met with a bike accident on 22 july 2018 around 1.00pm  in Shyok -Agam village of Leh.He had multiple fractures and head injuries. He received first aid at Army Base Camp 303 around 2.30-3.00pm.Later he was shifted to Leh Government Hospital where he reached by 9.00pm by an ambulance. While the local police and all doctors and staff at the Government Hospital also the Army people were a helpful lot; no one could compensate for the precious time lost in mere transportation!!!We lost him the next day on 23 July,2018.

We were told a favourable outcome could have been expected if he was shifted to nearest medical centre at the earliest.Annually 25-30 lives (mostly young) are lost to due to paucity of a faster mode of transport. We request the concerned authorities to avail people of an AIRLIFT in such adversity.Airlifting the victim to nearest medical centre will save precious time and hence lives!!!Considering heavy ARMY presence there it shouldnt be a problem.

If such deaths are to continue due to lack of timely help;tourism in LEH LADDAKH could be majorly affected!!!

WE LOST OUR CHILD but nobody should lose their kin for the same reason!!

Please support me in having an AIRLIFT available in the terrain as soon as possible!!!
