Oakton High School students experience heavy traffic coming into school as there is a four-way intersection that takes a significant amount of time to cross into the parking lot. This causes many tardies among students due to something that is simply out of our control. My fellow classmates and I believe a five-minute grace period is necessary for less unjust consequences regarding those tardies. We ask our principal, Jamie Lane, to help us implement this solution to disciplinary actions regarding student tardies and due to traffic in the intersection and create a better school environment where we are not penalized for a situation we cannot control.
