I agree with the petition wholeheartedly with the concerns as stated. As Jamestown residents we are extremely fortunate to be able to afford to live in our beautiful island. That said, I do believe that access to the shoreline is an incredibly important right for all Rhode Islanders. Finding the right balance of non residents and resident access to the parking lots is important so as not to disenfranchise those less fortunate than us. Regarding the fishing and mess at Taylor Point and other places, there needs to be a push to educate those fishing there on the effects of their fishing and human waste. A license costs less than $10 and there are reciprocal agreements with neighboring states, so enforcing that should be done for sure, but impact may be negligible. I would love to see the DEM doing a walk through every day and evening. Thanks for starting the petition, if you need ideas, help or guidance on the access or eliminating marine debris I would recommend reaching out to the Clean Ocean Access team at www.cleanoceanaccess.org

I'm sick of the lazy pigs in this state. They can't even throw their nasty gloves and masks away. So disgusted.

We need to preserve and protect the island paradise that is Jamestown. It should not be a garbage dump.

I love our island, and it breaks my heart, that visitors, do not respect our little piece of heaven. Please dispose of your trash properly.

Jamestown is a beautiful, But there are many imperfections, inconsiderate people trashing areas along the shore that receive little to no overlook by town and state officials. The fact that we as townspeople have to point out what is wrong is sickening. I was on the litter team a few years back and the same problem is happening year after year, fishingline, dirty diapers, and bottles etc. Are left in the bushes. Maybe if the trashes were emptied on a daily basis or a few more trash cans aligned beautifully and made with a effort. Some sort of funding should be allowed.
