Demand to hire the Deaf Director for the Deaf and Blind services in Georgia

As you are probably aware of Denine Woodson as the new hearing director of Blind and Deaf Services at GVRA, you should also know that she has NO experience in working with blind and deaf population. She doesn't have any knowledge about blindness and deafness at all.
GVRA had a large pool of well qualified deaf applicants for this position. None of the deaf applicants had been interviewed for this position. Again, the administration had chosen to ignore the demands of the Deaf community by hiring an inexperienced hearing person to make decisions about us. This is audism and oppression.
Now the new director wants you to come to the town hall meetings and ask you to help her to provide services for the clients with sensory disabilities. This is outrageous. Why should we help her when there are more well qualified deaf persons to do this? We must end this now.
This is very critical time for the Deaf community. So I am asking you to put your feelings aside and start working together now.
It's time that GVRA starts listening to our voices and hands. We must say this as quoted:
"Deaf Director Now!"
