No to the Cell Tower by Randolph Schools!

On May 6th, Township of Randolph held a Planning Board Hearing to address a variance and receive approval and waivers for a 155.5 feet Wireless Telecommunications Tower to be built at 502 Millbrook Ave. (Town Hall Municipal Building).

The town plans to move forward on this development despite the proximity to the schools (Randolph High School, Middle School and Center Grove Elementary), its local residents and municipal workers and the detrimental health implications from electromagnetic frequency (EMF) radiation it will have on our community.

Expert organizations, National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP),  American National Standards Institute (ANSI) & the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE)  incorporated new guidelines for Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) in terms of electric and magnetic field strength and power density for transmitters operating at frequencies between 300kHz & 100GHz, updated on August 1, 1996 to satisfy the requirements of the Telecommunications Act of 1996.  To date, no town officials are able to provide data on how much EMF exposure will be emitted from this tower.  This is unacceptable.

There were other proposals to improve wireless coverage, however due to cost and convenience to the town officials, they deemed the "best overall solution is to construct a wireless telecommunications macrocell with a new antenna support structure at the south end of the municipal building."

Let's revisit these other proposals and say "NO" to the tower!
