To Whom It May Concern,

St. Croix, USVI is suffering a high rate of obesity and diabetes, with certain types avoidable through proper diet and exercise. The people who sign this petition feel that it would benefit not only the economy of merchants, but also the health of consumers, to have more healthy items available for purchase. Healthy items include items with no preservatives, low sugar content, and high nutritional value. Often times, these foods and this thoughtfulness for consumer health is only given to wealthy communities. However, it is possible to make healthy items accessible to all community members. There is a misconception that these items would not appeal to local people, however, there has never been a supply to create that demand.  We the people of St. Croix ask that you take the time to think of and introduce new products to your inventory that would cater to a healthier future for our local people.

Please see below signatures for people who not only agree theoretically, but who agree that they would be patrons in support of this progressive change.

We would like to see items such as:

Food:  Cherry, Pineapple, Kiwi, Melon Refrigerated Fruit Cups, Pre-Packaged Salads, Sandwhiches (including vegetarian options)

Drinks: Locally sourced coconut water (preservative free), Locally sourced fruit juices (preservative free & low sugar content)

Sincerely,

Virgin Islands' Community Members
