My name is Rashed McBride and I'm a big advocate for teens, while also being a party promoter. I have had all successful parties but towards the end the kids don't like to leave in a positive manner. I have never had an incident inside any of my events. The city venues don't like to rent out anything if they know it's a teen event but what they have to understand is all kids are not the same. Kids just want to have fun and be a teen or young adult. I'm aware of the crime rate but if teens feel like more people are on their side they will listen. I support their view and they support me. Again I can't stress enough that it's not about just the parties, it's about having absolutely nothing to do in Jacksonville. Example: Gateway Mall, The Jacksonville Landing, Recency Mall and a few other places were closed down before we could enjoy them not because of the teens in my era but now adults before us which is not fair to us. We are too big for Chuck-e-Cheese and Adventure Landing. Yes we have Dave and Busters but again some kids don't have $50 or better to spend to go there. We have the Orange Park Skate Station but the distance may be a problem. The Jacksonville Fair comes once a year and then we have nothing. It's just my opinion that we have nothing to do but the adults can have night clubs on every side of town and block parties. I/We need help or support to change this.
