Daniel Smock started this petition to jackson new jersey

As COVID-19 prolongs in the United States, many people in the state of New Jersey are affected the most. Along with New York. This has affected our daily life and our routine as a community. As the situation continues with no end in sight, we have bigger things to worry about than remote learning. Although, education is very important and should not be overlooked, in the next few weeks coming forward, the virus may continue to intensify. Members of our community and students of the district have family members who are suffering from this horrendous disease, and even some students. A sudden shift in our lifestyle has been hard to deal with and adapt for many.

Students and families have not been able to leave their houses for weeks on end. With the cancellation of the rest of the school year by Governor Phil Murphy, remote learning for the rest of the year is definitely not close to an ideal learning environment for many students. Remote learning has not been able to receive the same educational benefits as in school teaching. With most of the school year completed already, this last marking period shall remain insignificant to many people educational experience.  Exempting students would be a great benefit to students and family members of the community as it would relieve a great load of stress from the backs of students and parents so they would not have to have any extra stress of remote learning and completing assignments as the outside world continues to change as the situation develops and families are still being hurt by this, but if students were not on course to pass their mandated classes throughout the school year, they should not be exempt

With the continued use of remote learning, it causes great amounts of stress on the student body, making it difficult to learn in a brand new environment that no one in the past has been able to experience, let alone perfect in a situation like this, where we have a potential of millions of peoples being infected. On top of this, remote learning does not teach students in a way that many are able to comprehend and use the information gathered in a way that will be able to positively affect their education.

Please consider this as an option for the Jackson School District. As the indefinite future of our community and great state grows further and further as the time of this situation grows onward, students and families have much more to worry about than remote learning. Please exempt the students for the final marking period, marking period 6
