We believe that the amount of fully funded or subsidised drugs available in NZ is not sufficient in providing the human right of updated and efficient medical care.  PHARMAC stands for Pharmaceutical Management Agency, and serves as one of New Zealand's Crown Entities. The government organisation’s purpose is to decide on behalf of district health boards which medicines and pharmaceuticals should be subsidised, or funded, in New Zealand’s community and public hospitals. This issue surrounding PHARMAC is that some cancer drugs such as Keytruda, which have been proven to extend or improve the quality of the lives of cancer patients, are not currently being funded in New Zealand. Because the drugs are funded overseas, and have been proven to work through clinical testing, some people believe that PHARMAC has the responsibility to fund them to give cancer patients a better chance at quality life. In order to fund these drugs, the New Zealand Government and PHARMAC will have to increase the current budget of one billion dollars.

Please sign this petition to help get the NZ government to increase pharmacs budget, some more people can access life saving drugs!
