NZ Marijuana Referendum in 100 Day Plan
This petition had 1,480 supporters
The incoming Labour-led government has promised the NZ Green Party a referendum on the legal status of Marijuana before 2020.
This is an urgent issue facing our country. Many young kiwis are ending up in the criminal justice system before the age of 25 for possession of marijuana or paraphernalia relating to the consumption of marijuana. This can severely hinder an individual's ability to get a job, loan, or to travel overseas.
Along with this, many patients with severe health issues that could benefit from medical forms of marijuana are being denied this because of our current drug laws.
Please, if you agree that a referendum on the legal status of marijuana in New Zealand is an urgent issue, sign this petition and urge Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to include the referendum on her 100-day plan.
