Get Jacinda Ardern to do the Hot Set

New Zealand's first Prime Minister - Henry Sewell was elected to parliament in 1855. In the 162 years since then, we have not even come close to having a DJ for a leader. Until now.

On a sunny January Monday in 2014, Jacinda Kate Laurell Ardern played what would become a legendary set inside an abandoned grain silo on Auckland's waterfront. It went OFF! The people were fizzed, the old silo throbbed and pulsed all the way up it's main shaft, the water began to bubble and from it emerged what those present could only describe as a Taniwha, high on MDMA and wearing a t-shirt that read "TOSS ME A DISCO BISCUIT".

And then, like one-test All Black, and fellow Waikato alum Regan King, Ardern disappeared from the main stage immediately after her debut. Since then she has kept her mixing finger in the realms of dance music; dating fisherman and DJ Clarke Gayford but is yet to make the comeback we all know she's capable of.

Well, the time is now. The George Breakfast Hot Set is open to Jacinda every day this week, even at short notice. Every day leading up to election day this Saturday. New Zealand is ready for DJ Major Labour and a Prime Minister who knows the BPM of the people! We feel deep down she wants to do it, but her people are warning her against it. "What if she crashes the mix?" they say. "What if she plays Wagon Wheel? She is from Morrinsville after all!" they murmur.

In the words of Ardern herself: "They will try to convince us not to rock the boat, but we can do better. We are ready. New Zealand is ready. Let's do this."
