I’m starting  this petition in hopes of giving families a chance of saving a loved one. Addiction is agonizing . It's equally as hard on the ones who truly care and love them. How many times have you tried to get your loved one help? How many times you take your love one to a rehab hoping this time works. You realize your loved one left because they’re able to sign themselves out. How can that be posible when they have an addiction? How can rehab allow them to leave when they haven’t had enough time to  recover?.  We need to change that. Rehab should  be a year minimum without the possibility of being able to sign themselves out. How can they be able to make those decisions when they’re sick. Making rehabs a mandatory minimum of a year with insurance covering their stay instead of covering 3-5 days  will help many loved ones recover and give families hope and not having to endure a tragedy like my family and I had to experience. On Jan 30,2022 our family experience the imaginable. We lost our beloved Jarvis jr.  known by family and friends as jj he left an 8 year old daughter. J.j was battling addiction. He placed himself into rehab 6 times , because he so desperately wanted to better his life for himself and his daughter. Jarvis would leave after only 2-3 months of treatment falling back into addiction. Being able to sign himself out wasn’t helping him recover at all. If Jarvis would of been mandated to a year minimum in rehab it would of saved his life. Jarvis wouldn’t have had to place himself in rehab 6 times to get the help . The reason of that was being able to leave freely. Signing this petition can help save your loved ones and family from tragedy giving them a second chance of life..
