Why this petition matters

Started by Jennifer Adams

I’m a 47 year old male incarcerated of an aggravated DUI conviction.  Even though I hold myself accountable, the effects are immeasurable. While incarcerated I have dedicated myself to learning from my mistakes and making wiser choices. I’ve completed 2 vocational courses and earned 59 credit hrs of various college courses including substance abuse. COVID has ravaged the prison and I’m scared for my life. I want to survive, come home and take care of my family. I’m filing this clemency in hopes that the governor and parole board give me a second chance at life. I have 3 children, 2 young daughters that desperately needs their father, a severely damaged relationship with my wife, and a mother who needs help managing her health due to multiple health conditions and being a cancer survivor. All of which I need to repair and rebuild. Prior to my incarceration, I had no criminal record. While in jail, I’ve had no disciplinary issues.  I want to use my experience and education to improve myself and others. I don’t want others making the same mistake I made.  I know I can make an impact and be influential in lives of others if I’m given a second chance. Please support me as I fight for my freedom back.
