Shawnqual Layne is currently incarcerated for a non-violent crime at Big Muddy River Correctional Center in Ina, IL.  He is over 4 hours away from his close family and young son (age 7).  With the growing spread of the global pandemic caused by COVID-19, we are petitioning Governor J.B.  Pritzker to release this inmate.  We fully believe Shawnqual is rehabilitated and able to reintegrate into society successfully.  Shawnqual has been incarcerated for over 2 years and convicted of a non-violent crime.  Both he and his close family and friends are growing very concerned about the spread of COVID-19 into the prison and we do not want to see him die in prison.  He has a young son and many close family and friends that would be devastated if something happened to their loved one.  We are asking that you respectfully consider and release Mr. Shawnqual Layne.
