After a brief conversation among the Secondary Education students that intend to student teach the spring semester of 2022, a common issue that was brought up was pay. Many of us have financial obligations and even families that we need to pay for. While student teaching, we will be required to teach Monday-Friday and take the work load of what is similar to a full time teaching position. Additionally, some students have additional courses to take on top of student teaching leaving less time to work. We are petitioning to get some sort of compensation during this time. It is imperative that we are able to be successful student teachers without wondering if we will have enough money to pay for our next bill or groceries. Please consider signing!
