Bring Back Barrymore

Bring Back Barrymore

When I was little, I watched what my parents watched. One person they never failed to miss was Michael Barrymore. Every week we'd all sit down as a family and laugh from start to finish. With his comical antics and never ending, quick-witted humour, he'd have us all in stiches. The only time we'd rest would be during the commercial breaks.
It was 1986 that Michael first fronted ITV's Strike It Lucky. It changed it's name to Strike It Rich later on and ran until 1999. At it's peak, Michael was bringing in 18 million viewers to his ITV gameshow!
During this time, Michael was given his own show called Barrymore. Guests included Cliff Richard, Uri Gellar and Spike Milligan, among others. The successful Barrymore show ran for nine years.
In 1995 ITV commisioned a show called My Kind Of People, this only ran for one series, but then in 1998, we had the enjoymnt of a show called My Kind Of Music. This ran until 2002.
While recording all that, between 1998 until 2000, Kids Say the Funniest Things hit our screens.
As well as all that success, Michael has performed for Royalty during the Royal Variety Performance. Michael was an asset to ITV and loved by millions!
We genuinly need this guy back on TV. He is an outstanding presenter, who never under performs. He has incredible energy and is super quick gags. He'd walk around and through the audiences and have everyone falling off their seats. Barrymore is a FIVE time National Television Award Winner, once nominated, British Comedy Award winner and nominated once and Bafta Television Award nomination, there really hasn't been a presenter like him since he was taken from our screens.
After the pandemic, we all really need to laugh again. The nation needs comedy. The nation needs laughter. The nation needs a genuine presenter. The nation needs Michael!
You have the power to bring this unique talent back to our screens, ITV.
Now - is the time to Bring Back Barrymore!
