The staff buses has been one of the most effective benefit that the company provides . With all honesty we can’t see the reason why the company needs to pull the staff bus . Majority of the staff that works at the company doesn’t live in close proximity to Montego Bay but because the parishes that we live in don’t have adequate job employment we are forced to seek jobs outside of our parishes . It’s already very tiring to travel so far but now to also to be pressured by bus fare . If the staff bus is taken from us we will be forced to resign because we won’t be able to pay bills , pay fare and any other expenses from the salary that is currently been offered to us . Half of our base pay would be contributed to bus/taxi fare alone . Especially for persons living in Westmoreland , Trelawny & Hanover . New Employees has chosen Itel has a preferred place of employment and it is mainly because of the free transportation . A lot of us are still here because of the staff bus . The staff bus is one of the main reason for staff productivity, a lot of times we don’t have the fare to be present at work for the entire pay cycle but we make it work because of the staff bus . Is it that your company doesn’t value the well being of your employees ? The first thing we learn when we started at your company was the 4-Y’s , clearly the company doesn’t stand on anything that they say . Seeing that you have no intentions in raising our pay it would be only fair to keep the staff bus . At the end of the day it’s your decision but your company cannot operate without workers .
