These last few years parents have lost the right to choose what is right for their children when it involves mask wearing. These mandates have taken a significant toll on our children's mental health and the long term effects of such are yet to be seen.  The District has NO PLAN to to lift restrictions. CDC came out in January saying that unless it is a n95 mask it doesn't keep you form getting Covid or any other virus. The vaccine is available to all school aged children. Our own district has hosted vaccination clinics.  We are surrounded by districts that are making masks optional.  The time is now to give the choice back to the parents whether on not they mask their child at school. 

As expected, Judge Grischow reacted harshly to Governor Pritzker's mandates and in slapping them down said "As for the matters at hand, it is clear IDPH/ISBE were attempting to force local school districts to comply with this guidance without any compliance with rulemaking. This type of evil is exactly what the law was intended to constrain." Although the judge denied the class certification and the TRO technically applies to the names schools and defendants, her ruling finds that neither IDPH, ISBE or the school districts have the authority to impose any of these mandates. She clearly said, and laid out the details below in her footnotes, that ANY school who continues to enforce these mandates is violating the law opening them up to litigation.
