It's time for a change!

It's time for a change!
We, the parents, families, friends and neighbors of students at Pearson Elementary, are ready to voice our concerns and demand that a change be made. Time for the stakeholders to come together for our children.
When our school district sadly forced our former amazing Principal, Timothy Garrison, from his position because they were unwilling to provide a full time principal position at the time we were upset. Not only does EACH school deserve a FULL time Principal, but our community lost a great administrator due to this.
Since we didn’t have a say we decided to look to the future. We as stakeholders were ready to invite someone in who would be ready to make Pearson home and create a community of togetherness with the students and staff, after a long time of being separated due to Covid.
What our district has given us, is the absolute opposite. Craig Frick does not have our children's best interest at heart. What experience does he have? Zero! What input did the community have on his hire? Zero! What was done when staff voiced concerns over the candidates and his being hired? Zero!
Miraculously after he was hired the position became full time. It’s almost like the position was intentionally posted in a way that would not interest quality candidates like Mr. Garrison. Interesting, right? It’s almost like this was planned.
Fellow parents, were you aware that Mr. Frick does not know the correct WA State evacuation protocols in case of an emergency? Pearson was late in being able to turn in the monthly evacuation report because it was not done by the deadline. Mr. Frick "did not know" about the protocol. Is this the principal you want in charge of your child's safety for 6 hours a day? This is one of many safety concerns. His response time to critical situations should be his top priority but he would rather spend his time undisturbed in closed door meetings.
Fellow Parents, were you aware that during a rainy day recess, Mr. Frick invited not two, but three different 2nd grade classes into a room that was supervised by one adult? There was no social distancing and absolutely no way that one adult would be able to keep an eye on over 60+ students? Is this the same COVID protocol that our school district is receiving over $2.5 million in state aid for adhering to these standards?
Fellow Parents, ARE YOU AWARE that on 9/10 and 10/7, Mr. Frick started our children's day with an over 9 minute announcement about terrorists, casualties and global war? WHILE IT IS IMPORTANT TO TEACH OUR STUDENTS ABOUT CURRENT EVENTS AND HISTORY, THE LANGUAGE, CONTENT, AND DETAILS OF THE INFORMATION WERE ALARMING AND INAPPROPRIATE FOR YOUNG STUDENTS. Is THIS what our 5-11 year olds SHOULD BEGIN their day with? In AN email only ON 10/7, Mr. Frick informed teachers of the content of the morning video to give them a ‘heads up’. Nowhere in the email did he recognize or state it may be inappropriate for some students, he just wanted teachers to have a heads up. Unfortunately, not all teachers may have had the opportunity to read that email and preview the video prior to school starting, or at all if there was a guest teacher. I find it highly concerning, that Mr Frick is making any sort of announcement that requires a ‘heads up’ about the content. Shouldn't our kids have their days start with a positive, happy, "you can do it" message?
We've lost our long term office manager who was vital to our school, our staff feels unsupported, he takes an obscene amount of time to respond to parent concerns via email, this is not the job for Craig Frick. He is a business major, and our children and their education, is quite frankly none of his business. He is a serial employee who is using Pearson as another notch on his resume. Why would our Superintendent, board and other district leaders allow this person to work at a school?
Please stand up and help be the voice for our dear staff that are silenced by fear. We can’t lose another staff member or even worse have something happen to our children.
The district is far from ALL IN and needs to get back to the why!
In signing this petition you are starting a movement to ensure employees are properly vetted and that the employment of Craig Frick is reevaluated. We need change in many levels of administration and top down decisions like this are not acceptable.
