Early in the morning of December 3, 2019, Mr. Alazar Ghebrehiwet, a deacon at the St. Mary (Enda Mariam) Eritrean Orthodox Church in Tel Aviv, was quietly praying at the church when he was viciously attacked by 3 individuals.   He was chocked, kicked and one of the attackers used a knife to stab him several times.  This barbaric attack was caught on CCTV camera. Eritrean communities everywhere condemn this illegal and immoral act and we respectfully ask the Israel Police Department to investigate this crime and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Eritreans in Israel are law abiding and peaceful people who appreciate the protection the State of Israel continues to provide them. That is why they see this cowardly attack on Mr. Alazar Ghebrehiwet as an attack on their community.
