Macs back for the Media Department!

When we moved over to the Islwyn High School building in June 2017, the iMac computers were passed over to the Music Department from the Media Department after having them for years at Oakdale Comprehensive, and we want to get them back for Media.
You may be asking.. why should we have them back. In Media, 60% of our work is on the computers, and without them we will be (as this year’s Year 11 Media students have been doing) using the school’s laptops and pc’s, which only include the Microsoft Software’s: Powerpoint, Word. Where as the iMac’s have Final Cut, iMovie, Photoshop and others which we are unable to use on the Windows laptops.
The Music Department already have iPads, aswell as the instruments and only need the iMacs / iPads for 20% of their coursework, Compositions. I do obviously recognise that the Music Department may well need the iMacs for their work just as much as we do. However in my opinion, I believe that they would be more efficient in our regular use.
We believe that the iMacs are more needed Media Department, and if we are unable to get them, it may effect our GCSE grades. We would really appreciate this change as all of us, as Media students want to strive and achieve the highest grade possible, however, we feel limited with the current Software.
We also feel that this would improve the experience and work for future Media GCSE students, and they would benefit from the use of the iMacs.
We would be very grateful If you could sign up and share this petition where ever you can.
