I'm signing because I often cycle home through back streets from Islington to Hornsey - these planters have attracted me as I cycle past and recently I've stopped just to look, relax and enjoy before continuing on my car dominated journey home. What is Islington Council thinking of? Better a beautiful garden than a lump of polluting metal parked here!!

Community initiative like this should be applauded and supported, not dismantled by a council which should be doing more to improve the environment.

Islington has so little green space, the people of Mayton street need to be allowed their planters!

Food for bees and other pollinators. Important for mental health. Good advert for green credentials of Council.

The council should concentrate it’s energy on implementing the new traffic scheme to reduce the through traffic on the street rather than wasting its time and resources trying to remove these planters which are causing no harm to anyone.

The planters are a delight to the area. They have made the street look nicer, support wildlife, cleaner air, have a positive impact on mental wellbeing and connect the community. I regularly make a detour on my bike ride just because I want to be uplifted by this beautiful addition to Mayton Street.
Given the council's aim for a cleaner greener Islington there is absolutely no reason to remove this feature.

Streets need to be more than a space to dump cars.
