Outcome from the public meeting on 12th Nov 2012

Union Chapel
London, United Kingdom

Nov 13, 2012 — Dear supporters,

At the planning meeting held last night (12th Nov 2012), the application for the redevelopment of the site behind Union Chapel was accepted, but the actual decision deferred until there was agreement between the applicant and the District Valuer over the ‘correct’ contribution towards affordable housing.

We’re disappointed but all is not lost. We are being supported by The Theatres Trust, who is optimistic that in the next few weeks, we can secure from the developer significant Section 106 contributions for sound insulation and possibly a loading area which will mitigate to some extent the anticipated congestion and disturbance both during construction and beyond.

Thank you for your interest in Union Chapel and hope to see you soon.

Best wishes,
Union Chapel Team
