Sign this petition as a call for CSD to install Hydration Stations throughout Isla Vista for the benefit of the community and environment at large.

A hydration station is a state-of-the-art drinking fountain that provides free, filtered water in a convenient and accessible design. These stations are a great way to encourage the use of reusable water bottles, as well as promote hydration and healthy living.

Each station is fitted with an NSF certified filter and equips additional antimicrobial protection, providing healthier water with reduced lead and other contaminants. In an effort to promote sustainable and eco-friendly practices, these serve as alternatives to the single-use cups and plastic water bottles that litter our streets and pollute our oceans. One water station manufacturer(Elkay) states that it has replaced over 8 billion plastic water bottles.

The installation of these stations could also increase access to filtered water for those under-the-influence in IV. Dehydration from drug or alcohol use can lead to serious medical complications, and can be easily prevented through accessible and convenient water stations.

Overall, these stations would serve to improve the overall quality of life in Isla Vista, and would benefit the families and broader communities of the city as well.
