This petition is to request for changes in school board meeting procedures to allow for public input at all meetings and a better format for communication between the school board members and the public. The amount of time we are currently given to address the school board members is insufficient. We formally request the following procedure changes to all ISD 318 board meetings:

1. We request that ALL board meetings have a time set aside for public input.

2. We request an opportunity for public input at ALL school board meetings BEFORE a board votes on a new policy or makes a change to an existing one.

3. We request a question/answer format that allows for not just a statement to be made publicly to the board, but a time for asking the board questions and having an opportunity to hear the boards' answers to those questions. 

We believe these changes will provide more transparency and better communication between the school board members and the community they serve.
