Change the dangerous NJ Transit bus route at the Voorhees Town Center

On October 17, 2017, my grandmother, Dolores Earley, was struck and killed by a NJ Transit bus in front of the Somerdale Road entrance to Boscov's at the Voorhees Town Center. The location of this bus stop requires the buses to pass through areas of heavy foot traffic, between the parking lots and entrances to both Boscov's and the center of the mall. Hundreds of people cross the path of these buses every day, and it's just a matter of time before another accident occurs. We are urging NJ Transit and the Voorhees Town Center to make pedestrian foot traffic safer at this location. The best choice would be to move the bus stop away from the mall and out onto Somerdale Road, or at least the loop around the mall beyond the parking lot. If the stop is not moved, at the very least several pedestrian safe guards need to be in place at the locations where the bus route comes between the parking lot and the entrances to Boscov's and the mall itself. We suggest stop signs, speed bumps, and a flashing crosswalk sign at each entrance. This will keep all vehicles moving slow, and make all drivers more aware of pedestrians. Please help support us in fighting for these changes, so we can avoid another tragedy from occurring.
